N-Acetyl Cysteine Tablets 750mg
N Acetylcysteine (NAC) truly is a wonderful supplement offering numerous heath benefits. A naturally occurring form of the amino acid cysteine, NAC is found in trace amounts in some high protein foods, although the body meets most of its need by in vivo sythesis.
Oral supplementation with NAC has been clinically shown to aid multiple physiological processes including liver detoxification, as a neural protective, as decongestant for the lungs, and as an immunity booster. NAC is used medically in the treatment of liver detoxification, either after illness or exposure to poisons or toxins, and for reducing mucus build up in the lungs during or after infection.
NAC supplementation is able to achieve these benefits by stimulating increasing synthesis of the antioxidant Glutathione. After ingestion, N Acetylcysteine is readily and easily absorbed, and is rapidly transported via the bloodstream to the lungs and liver where it is hydrolysed releasing the cysteine for the synthesis of glutathione.
Due to the liver and lungs providing the main sites of glutathione synthesis, these organs receive a large increase in antioxidant capacity after NAC supplementation and this results in a strong protective effect upon them. As a potent all round antioxidant, NAC is regarded as a cornerstone Life Extension supplement and is an excellent addition to any supplement arsenal.
