Detailed Product Information
The Milk thistle plant (Silybum Adnas) is a common wild flower related to the daisy native to Europe, which has a long history of use as a folk remedy used to protect against and repair damage to the gallbladder and liver. Recently, medical trials have identified Milk thistle as containing a highly beneficial compound called Silymarin, which exhibits potent antitoxic and anti-inflammatory effects upon hepatic tissues.
With positive trial results showing beneficial effects in cases of both hepatitis and cirrhosis, Milk thistle is now often used in a clinical setting as part of combination treatments to help reverse these conditions. Milk thistle is also used as a protective against liver damage in situations where other medications may place stress upon the liver. It has also been linked with beneficial effects upon cholesterol by reducing the formation of VLDL cholesterols and arterial plaque. The Silymarin in Milk thistle also appears to have a positive effect on stabilising bold sugar levels and fatty acid transport throughout the body.
